On Sunday, October 30th, our congregation served over 100 meals to about 55 diners through Loaves and Fishes at Wilkes Blvd. Methodist Church. The numbers were a bit lower than expected, but we were still glad to provide a respite for these folks on a rainy night. St. Francis House appreciated our donation of the remaining chicken and mac ‘n’ cheese afterward.

Huge thanks to all who generously donated food items and especially to the volunteers who came to serve and clean up: Nancy & Joel Ray, Deborah Zemke, Steve Scheinkopf & Jennifer Levy, the Hornbeck-Heringmans, Kelly Durante, Nikki Krawitz, Jean Ispa, Shari Weinman, Lynn Parshall, Ellen Horwitz, Margie Sable, Tanya Christiansen, Julie Deering and Michael Kaplan. Thanks also to Brent Lowenberg for logistical help. Our next Loaves and Fishes dinner is Sunday, January 29th.  Please mark your calendar and join us.

from the CBS in-box:
The Sacred Music concert with Steven Chaitman was wonderful and one could feel the energy among those who stayed for the great party afterwards.

Please thank Judy and ALL who helped her set up this concert, including Julie Rosenfeld, who played the violin, and Emily Fuller and Zoey Fleischer as well.  It was an extraordinary event and I won’t forget it!

Tell & Kvell!
Children’s Grove and Missouri Business Alert are giving Amanda Rainey a “Kindness to the Community” award on November 3rd. Goldie’s Bagels maintains a “neighborhood fund” that lets patrons contribute to the cost of a bagel and cup of coffee for those who can’t afford it.
