In months with a fifth Sunday, CBS provides a full dinner to fellow Columbians in need through the Loaves & Fishes program. We are serving Sunday, December 29th, and we need donations of food items as well as volunteers to set up, serve, and clean up.

NOTE: Brent and Noah, who normally coordinate our efforts, both will be out of town on December 29th. We would love to hear from anyone – either regular volunteers or newcomers – who will be in town and willing to serve and/or clean up that day. We’ll be more than happy to walk you through the process of serving dinner ahead of time. Please contact Noah at heringmann@missouri.edu.

Bring food to the Ashley Street Center, 1509 Ashley Street (use the door with the ramp), at 3:30 pm – note time and venue change! – that day. Volunteers setting up/serving/cleaning up should also arrive by 3:30 pm. We expect to serve about 85 people, and the need for volunteers to serve is especially critical.

Click
here for the sign-up list. And thanks!

With questions, please contact Noah at heringmann@missouri.edu or Brent at brentdeelg@gmail.com.

The CBS Book Club will meet on Sunday, December 15 at 2:30 pm in the farmhouse to discuss James McBride’s novel The Heaven & Earth Grocery Store. All are welcome.

Email Jean Ispa at ispaj@missouri.edu if you’d like to receive occasional email updates from this group.
