High Holy Days at CBS

We have set up our tent and welcome you to sit beneath it as Rabbi Phil Cohen and cantorial soloist Andy Curry conclude the High Holy Days for the new year 5782.
Feel free to bring lawn chairs/blankets and sit on the lawn. A limited number of chairs will be available under the tent.
RSVP is requested, not required. We are looking forward to seeing everyone! Please be aware social distancing is requested.
Masks are optional but are required in food lines.
Our first day of in-person classes will be on Sunday, September 19, the first Sunday after Yom Kippur. Our youngest learners are in preschool, starting at age three.
Project Isaiah is in full swing. We have collected 2 ½ barrels of food, which are being picked up today (Wednesday) by the Food Bank driver. Let’s try to fill these barrels again over Yom Kippur. The last pickup will be on Monday. Just as impressive, we have raised $1732 online as well as $90 (so far) by check. We plan to wrap up this part of the drive in time for Sukkot (Monday, Sept. 20th) and cut a check at that time. Please note that we have barrels outside the sanctuary door and food can be dropped off at any time. If anyone is having trouble getting food from their car to the barrels, or trouble getting to the shul in the first place, please contact Noah Heringman for assistance at 817-1360 (voice) or 239-7009 (text). CBS Book Club
The next CBS Book Club meeting will take place on October 17 at 3 pm. We will be discussing The Yellow Bird Sings by Jennifer Rosner. The novel is based on true stories of Jewish children who were hidden during World War II. Reviews describe it as a beautiful story that testifies to the strength of the mother-child bond and that celebrates hope in even the worst of times.
