We need YOU!
Facilitate a Friday night (7 pm) or Saturday morning (10 am) Shabbat service. Services can be entirely in English or Hebrew/English hybrid.
Click hereto view Friday and here and here to see Saturday service guides. Use all or part of the guide, along with your own readings/prayers.
Be creative! Do it with a friend!
Choose the Reform (Mishkan Tefilah) or Conservative (Sim Shalom) prayerbook to design a service. Pick up a copy of either during Emily’s office hours (T-F, noon – 5 pm).
The CBS Board of Directors met on Monday, July 15 and adopted a statement of the “Values and Mission of Congregation Beth Shalom.”
The statement was derived from CBS’s existing mission as well as the “Values, Vision, & Mission” published by the Union of Reform Judaism, of which CBS is a member.
The mission and values statement was approved after being discussed at two Board meetings, with the second meeting including input from several CBS members in addition to Board members.
CBS Board member Jake Roth has moved with his family to Nashville and will be resigning his Board seat soon.
Pursuant to the CBS Bylaws, the remaining Board members will appoint someone to serve the rest of Jake’s term, which ends in 2026.
Any CBS member interested in Board service should contact CBS VP Ben Trachtenberg at ben.trachtenberg@gmail.com by Monday, July 22. Please submit a brief paragraph stating your reasons for serving.
