Our topic: Yiddish Politics in Southern States
This presentation will examine the political and cultural undertakings of these southern Jewish radicals, consider their significance to southern and Jewish histories and explore their legacies in the contemporary South.
Featured speaker will be our own Josh Parshall. Josh is the Director of History at the Goldring/Woldenberg Institute of Southern Jewish Life. He holds a PhD in American studies from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
I want to thank the Sisterhood for the lovely basket that was left at my front door. I was immediately impressed by the increased environmental awareness shown by the contents of the basket, with paper packaging instead of plastic, with fresh fruit, with delicious cookies made by members, with the beautiful honey. I’m looking forward to trying the special tea.
I enjoy seeing and reading about your activities. The increasingly well-groomed lawn is a testament to the efforts of your members.
As your neighbor to the east, I am honored to receive such a lovely gift from Congregation Beth Shalom.
Sincerely,
Mary Ann Shaw

As chairman of our PrideFest Committee, I’d like to thank the members of the committee without whose time, effort, and talent our participation this past weekend would have been neither possible nor as successful as it was. They include: Jeanne Snodgrass, Janna Lancaster, Nancy Ray, Kelly Durante, Emily Fuller, Debbie Kaplan and Rabbi Matt. I’d also like to thank the volunteers from CBS and Hillel who helped staff the CBS/MU Hillel booth. Many in the crowd expressed their appreciation of our support for the LGBQT+ community. The parade was lots of fun for the families and others who took part. Come join us next year!
