The 2025/26 b’nai mitzvah class is raising money for new playground equipment by selling shirts and sweatshirts for Chanukkah. To order, click here. Or use a printed copy, available on the table in the sanctuary building foyer.

Orders are due November 12th so we can have everything printed and sorted in time for the Chanukkah party. Give payment to Debbie Kaplan, Emily Colvin in the CBS office, or Deidra McClendon.

With questions, contact Deidra (deidra.mcclendon@hotmail.com). Thanks!

Last project of the season!
Come help prepare beds for planting next spring this Sunday, November 2nd at 10 am. Bring a shovel to turn over the soil and help lay cardboard and mulch.
During Project Isaiah, our annual High Holy Days food drive, we collected 158 lbs. of food, $79.44 in the tzedakah box and $610 via Facebook. Thanks to all who contributed!

Here is a note from the Food Bank: “With every meal weighing an average of 1.2lbs, these two barrels alone will help The Food Bank distribute over 130 meals to our neighbors living with food insecurity.”

Due to the suspension of SNAP/food stamps and other aid during the current government shutdown, local food insecurity is increasing dramatically. Please consider making another donation to the Food Bank (click here) to help feed our neighbors.

In months with a fifth Sunday, CBS provides a full dinner to fellow Columbians in need through the Loaves & Fishes program. We are serving Sunday, November 30th, and we need donations of food items as well as volunteers to set up, serve, and clean up.

Watch for the signup list in next week’s eShalom and consider signing up to work a shift at the dinner, bring food, or both!

The CBS Book Club will meet Sunday, December 7 at 3 pm in the Farmhouse to discuss Heart of a Stranger by Angela Buchdahl.

Please email Jean Ispa (ispaj@missouri.edu) if you’d like to be added to (or subtracted from) Jean’s distribution list for this book group.
