As we move into fall and the lead-up to High Holy Days, let’s freshen up our Shabbat services. We’d like people to consider leading, especially Friday night.

There are service leader outlines in binders under the reading table in the sanctuary. Or design your own from either of our regular prayer books. Do it with a friend, or solo. Be creative!

Contact Debbie Kaplan (debbiecolekaplan@gmail.com) to set up Friday evenings or Dan Edidin (danedidin@gmail.com) for Saturday mornings.

In months with a fifth Sunday, CBS provides a full dinner to fellow Columbians in need through the Loaves & Fishes program. We are serving Sunday, August 31st, and we need donations of food items as well as volunteers to set up, serve, and clean up.

Bring food to the Ashley Street Center, 1509 Ashley Street (use the door with the ramp), at 3:30 pm that day. Volunteers setting up/serving should also arrive by 3:30 pm. Clean-up crew should arrive by 5:30 pm.

We expect to serve about 85 people, and the need for volunteers to serve is especially critical.

Click here for the sign-up list. And thanks!

With questions, please contact Noah at heringmann@missouri.edu or Brent at brentdeelg@gmail.com.

With the dog days of summer here, the gardens at CBS need regular watering to look good.

Please help by taking a turn watering the memorial gardens, which are on each side of the door to the new building.

Click here to sign up for a shift, which should take about an hour. With questions, contact Tanya Christiansen at tj_christiansen@yahoo.com
