Shalom, CBS!
After a year of beautiful time together as your student rabbi, the time has finally come for me to officially be your full-time Rabbi! I am happy to let you all know that I have moved into my apartment and am in the process of getting settled, both there and in the office at the Farmhouse. Now that I am in CoMo and serving as your Rabbi full time, that means we are open for business! Over the next couple days and weeks I will be announcing some amazing educational and social opportunities for all of us to spend intentional time together over the summer, as we slowly begin to make our way toward the beginning of the academic year and the High Holy Days. In the meantime, feel free to stop by the Farmhouse to say hi, or shoot me an email/text and we can get together for coffee! I’d love to get to know each of you more and for all of you to know that I am always here for you, no matter what!
Since I’ve been ordained, my Hebrew Union College email address I’ve used previously may not be in service for much longer. Since there have been a couple of attempted scams going around, I wanted you all to know that my official personal email address will be rabbi.derrenbacher@gmail.com and my phone number (aside from the synagogue number) is 315.576.3271. I will not contact you from any other email address or phone number, and I will not ever contact you out of the blue asking for money. If you do receive any messages claiming to be me, please reach out to me in person at the synagogue or at one of the methods of communication above so we can report any suspicious activity.
I can’t tell you how grateful I am to begin serving as your full-time Rabbi and to walk alongside each of you along your spiritual journeys. Like our Ancestors before us, I pray that we can embark on this journey together with intention, walking through the wilderness to discover and celebrate our own, special, unique CoMo expression of Jewish life and values.
I hope you all have a wonderful rest of your week and I’m really looking forward to all of our time together!

Thanks to all for your patience with the driveway and parking lot repairs. The parking space lines have not yet been painted, but that will happen soon!
The Interfaith Garden on our CBS property is now fully planted, which means that there are many ways for congregants to pitch in: harvesting, weeding, watering, maintenance of fruit/nut trees, etc. As always, garden work days are from 9 am to 11 am on Wednesday and Sunday. Feel free to contact Noah (HeringmanN@missouri.edu), Brent (brentdeelg@gmail.com), or Julie (jdeering76@gmail.com) for more information.
Also – if you travel this summer, please bring any hotel soaps, shampoos or other personal hygiene products you may pick up along the way to CBS so we can donate them to shelters in Columbia. And even if you don’t travel, if you buy the sample size products we’d love to have them.
