Souper Sunday Is Coming Up!

Let’s keep a ten-year-plus CBS tradition alive by gathering before the Super Bowl to assemble soup packets for delivery to Russell Chapel Food Pantry.

We’ll meet at Hillel on Sunday, February 8th at 1 pm and should be done by 3 pm. With this event, we provide 400 nutritious meals each year to those in need, and the soup is so good that CBS has even received fan mail about it!

We will need quite a few volunteers to make this event work, and we love having soup-makers of all ages. Donations toward the cost of ingredients are also welcome.
With questions, contact Noah (heringmann@missouri.edu).

Thank you to those hardy souls who braved the cold and picked up trash around the Battle/MLK Memorial Garden Sunday morning. There were seven of us and we collected about a dozen big bags of trash from around the garden and MLK trailhead.

“Congregation Beth Shalom” still appears on the city’s Adopt-a-Spot sign in the parking lot, which is good publicity for us, especially when the area is litter-free. We’ll do the next cleanup when it’s warmer out.

Please consider this option if you have a b’nai mitzvah coming up—Tikkun Olam is happy to coordinate.

On Thursday, January 29 Mizzou Hillel welcomes Julie Kohner as she tells the story of her mother, Hanna, a survivor of five concentration camps and the first Holocaust survivor to tell her story on American national TV. The program is at 3 pm on the Mizzou campus in Jesse Wrench Auditorium (Memorial Union S107).
