During winter weather, some of our Columbia neighbors need winter coats, gloves, scarves and stocking caps, as well as blankets and sleeping bags to stay warm.
Please take a minute to check your closets for winter coats, etc. that you can spare. A collection coat rack and a box are located in the foyer of the sanctuary building.

The congregation’s Rabbi Search Committee is doing a great job bringing candidates to Columbia: One applicant visited in early December, and we’re thrilled that we have two more rabbinic candidate visits scheduled for the first half of January.
Thanks to our search committee’s efforts, it is vital that we have a sufficient amount of money PLEDGED to the Rabbinic and Cantorial Leadership Fund so we are ready to make a competitive offer. We don’t need your money at this time, but we do need commitments over three years that total a minimum of $150,000, but preferably $200,000 or more, beyond regular annual contributions. And we need to see those commitments soon to ensure that CBS can confidently make our top candidate an offer in good faith.
So we urge you to read the full case statement [link] (but please substitute January 31, 2026, for December 31, 2026!), and either contact Janna Lancaster or Tim Parshall or fill out and submit to Tim the Future 50 Campaign pledge form [link].
