Dee Dee Strnad reports that we received a check from the National Mah Jongg League for $1,920 for the sale of cards. We earn $5 for each card sold and a $20 bonus for getting the order in early. Proceeds go to the Tikkun Olam fund.
Thank you, Dee Dee, for managing this project!

During the first year of the Interfaith Garden (2009) we harvested about 300 lbs of vegetables. We now average about 1,700 lbs per season. While the bulk of our produce goes to the Food Bank Market, we sometimes donate to smaller pantries or to Loaves & Fishes.
Our harvest generally includes tomatoes, peppers, okra, garlic, onions, beans, herbs, sweet potatoes, regular potatoes, chard, mustard, spinach, lettuce, carrots, summer squash, cucumbers, radishes, beets, turnips, peas and strawberries. Our “orchard” is also beginning to produce persimmons, applies, and chestnuts.

Thank you to all who donated to the Tikkun Olam children bedding project for children during the High Holy Days. sHp (Sleep in Heavenly Peace) builds twin and bunk beds and provides the bedding to children in need. The kids are so excited when they see their new beds and comforters!
