The Interfaith Garden, located just south of the CBS parking lot, is a joint project with the St Thomas More Newman Center. Gardeners of any age or ability are welcome to help with cultivation and other tasks.
We donate everything we produce to The Food Bank. Last year we harvested nearly 2,300 pounds of food.
In the early season we work on Sunday mornings from 10 am – noon. As the season progresses, we also work one or two weekday mornings.
Lunch in the Park returns this summer to the Armory, 701 E Ash (note: not Douglass Park). Volunteers assemble and serve sack lunches to children and are welcome to interact with the kids as well.
CBS volunteers are needed for dates in July. The lunches are served from 12 noon to 1 pm, so volunteers should be at the Armory by 11:45 am and plan on staying no later than 1:15 pm.
With questions, contact Debi Kupferer at 573.239.9574.

The true story of Jan Karski, a Polish Catholic who worked for the Polish resistance and the Jewish underground during WWII. Karski recounts his life, capture by the Nazis, visits to a Jewish ghetto and concentration camp, and his extraordinary effort to inform the West of the Holocaust, while there was still time to stop it. His legacy of moral courage reminds us of the results of prejudice and hate.
Performance dates: May 17, 18, 24, 25 and 26. Friday and Saturday shows are at 7 pm and the Sunday show is a 2 pm matinee. Tickets are $20 for all performances; click here to order. Shows will be in the Compass Listening Room at Compass, Inc. at the Hillel Foundation, 1107 University Ave.
