Todah rabbah to our wonderful Souper Sunday volunteers! We had a total of eighteen CBS members for the event, so it took less than 2 ½ hours from start to finish to produce 400 one-pound bags of nutritious soup mix, and a good time was had by all. The Russell Chapel Food Pantry, our small local partner organization in downtown Columbia, is always grateful for this annual contribution from CBS.
Special thanks to Amanda Rainey and Goldie’s for ordering the beans for us and generously donating part of the cost; to an anonymous donor at the event; to Brent Lowenberg for running down all the spices, among other useful contributions; to Noah Heringman for organizing; and to Jeanne Snodgrass for greeting volunteers and letting us use the space at Mizzou Hillel.
