Rabbi notes that the word chanukah means dedication, and chanukat habayit is the dedication of the home. With the lights of the season, and with Jewish pride, he will come to your home to hang, check or repair your mezuzahs. If you need a new one or a klaf (kosher scroll) he will provide them. Contact him at rabbi.derrenbacher@gmail.com or 315.576.3271 to make the arrangements.

In months with a fifth Sunday, CBS provides a full dinner to fellow Columbians in need through the Loaves & Fishes program. We are servingSunday, December 31st, and we need donations of food items as well as volunteers to set up, serve, and clean up.
Bring food to Wilkes Blvd. Methodist Church, 702 Wilkes Blvd. (back entrance), before 4:15 pm that day. Volunteers setting up/serving/cleaning up should arrive by 4:30 pm. We expect to serve about 150 people, and the need for volunteers to serve is especially critical.
Thank you to Julie Deering, Rick Diamant, Lisa Schwartz, Rebecca Smith, and Deborah Zemke for watering the memorial garden this past growing season. A special thanks to Lisa who watered many times. In such a dry year, everyone’s help is appreciated even more than usual!
And thank you, Tanya, for organizing this every year!
First Candle is Tonight! (a little Chanukkah fun – no matter how you spell it!)
