Nominations Are Open for the CBS Board
This year, we will hold our CBS Annual Meeting on Sunday, May 7, at 11:30 am. The meeting will be in person and online. Click here to attend via Zoom.
Each year, three members of our nine-member board have their terms expire, and the congregation elects three members to three-year terms. This year, the terms of Marc Alexander, Janna Lancaster, and Julie Rosenfeld will expire, and all three have indicated that they will not stand for re-election.
The nominating committee is now accepting nominations for candidates for three positions on the CBS Board of Directors.
Any member of the Congregation in good standing who is interested in serving on the Board should contact Tim Parshall, president of the Board, to express a desire to serve; please submit a brief paragraph stating your reasons for serving.
The deadline for nominations is April 25. Tim will forward those names to the nominating committee to consider the candidates’ qualifications. The committee will share those names with the Congregation prior to the annual meeting, when members will elect three candidates.
Because of the logistics of a combined in-person and virtual meeting, we will not accept nominations from the floor at the annual meeting. Therefore, only members of the Congregation who express interest by April 24 may run for the Board at the annual meeting.
Anyone with questions about the process, or interested in serving on the Board, should contact Tim Parshall: thpcbs21@gmail.com or 573-489-9987.
We thank you for considering service to CBS, and we look forward to seeing you virtually or in person at the annual meeting.
In months with a fifth Sunday, CBS provides a full dinner to fellow Columbians in need through the Loaves & Fishes program. We are serving Sunday, April 30th, and we need donations of food items as well as volunteers to set up, serve, and clean up.
Bring food to Wilkes Blvd. Methodist Church, 702 Wilkes Blvd. (back entrance), before 4:15 pm that day. Volunteers setting up/serving/cleaning up should arrive by 4:30 pm. We expect to serve about 150 people, and the need for volunteers to serve is especially critical.
NOTE: In transferring yahrzeit records to ShulCloud from the old software we’ve found that some of the data is inaccurate, primarily because the English date is incomplete. We’re committed to making the ShulCloud records as accurate as possible.
If you see that we’ve posted incorrect information or have other additions/corrections, please send a note to Mary: maxmax@mchsi.com.
