We continued our annual tradition of assembling bean soup packets on Super Bowl Sunday. We donated 440 of these to the Russell Chapel Food Pantry, as we have in the past. Last year we even got a piece of fan mail about the soup from one of their clients!
Thanks to Brent Lowenberg for handling the delivery and to Jeanne and Dave Snodgrass for ordering all the ingredients and allowing us to use the space at Hillel. Thanks especially to our talented multigenerational group of bean-and-spice packers, including both CBS members (aged 4 to retirement age) and their friends.
The cost of our ingredients was high this year, and the Tikkun Olam committee would still appreciate donations to help defray these costs. Please write “Souper Sunday” on the memo line of your check and send to CBS. Consider joining us next year!
Coming up: our next Loaves and Fishes dinner will be Sunday, April 30th.
