CBS Board Meeting
Thu May 7 @ 7 pm
The CBS Annual Meeting is Sunday, May 17 at 10 am. The meeting will be both in person and via Zoom.
Terms of three members of our nine-member board expire each year, and the congregation elects three members to three-year terms at this meeting. This year, the terms of Alix Cossette, Judith Goodman, and Tisya Cooke will expire. Tisya Cooke will seek another term and Alix Cossette may seek another term. Judith Goodman will not seek another term.
Nominations for the three positions are now open. Any CBS member in good standing interested in serving should contact Janna Lancaster (janna.lancaster@hotmail.com) and submit a brief statement describing your reasons for applying.
The deadline for nominations is May 3. The nominating committee will evaluate applicants’ qualifications and propose a slate of three candidates for consideration at the annual meeting. The composition of the slate, along with the names of any other candidates, will be publicized in eShalom ahead of the annual meeting.
Regardless of whether a candidate is on the slate, all candidates considered by the nominating committee are free to run and the members may elect any three of the candidates. Since the meeting will have both virtual and in-person participation, we will not accept nominations from the floor that day. In other words, only members of the congregation who express interest to the nominating committee by May 3 may run for the board at the annual meeting.
With questions about the process, or interested in serving on the Board, contact Janna Lancaster at janna.lancaster@hotmail.com) Janna is chairing the nominating committee this year.
We thank you for considering service to CBS, and we look forward to seeing you virtually or in person at the annual meeting.
The Interfaith Garden Group invites volunteers of any age for the busy spring season to join us in the garden. Come out on Sunday mornings at 10 am to help represent our congregation as a partner in this effort. And get to know our CBS gardens and walkways.
The Interfaith Garden, a collaboration between CBS and the Newman Center, donates all its produce to the Food Bank—an average of 2000 lbs. a year. In late May we will shift our start time to 9 am and will add a regular Wednesday session at the same time. Please contact Brent (brentdeelg@gmail.com or Noah (heringmann@missouri.edu with question
